An Information-based Approach for Guiding Multi-Modal Human-Computer-Interaction
نویسنده
چکیده
Much work has been done in dialogue mod-eling for spoken and multi-modal human-computer interaction. Problems can arise in situations that do not correspond to the dialogue model. For this reason, we propose information-centered dialogue processing in which the actions to be taken by the dialogue system are determined as a function of the information available in the discourse, the database and the domain model. In order to arrive at fully speciied representations of the intended actions, the speciicity of the representations is increased by uniication, integrating information from multi-modal input, database access and domain knowledge. Our approach diiers from other state-of-the-art systems in that it does not rely on explicit dialogue models. Instead, we show how partial and under-speciied representations of the situation can be used in a spoken dialogue system to generate clariication questions and to guide the user to arrive at his or her communicative goal. We show furthermore how probabilistic information can be used to disambiguate without clariication questions. Evaluation results and dialogue examples demonstrate the exibility and naturalness of our approach.

Hybridization of Facial Features and Use of Multi Modal Information for 3D Face Recognition
Despite of achieving good performance in controlled environment, the conventional 3D face recognition systems still encounter problems in handling the large variations in lighting conditions, facial expression and head pose The humans use the hybrid approach to recognize faces and therefore in this proposed method the human face recognition ability is incorporated by combining global and local ...
متن کاملImproving Agent Performance for Multi-Resource Negotiation Using Learning Automata and Case-Based Reasoning
In electronic commerce markets, agents often should acquire multiple resources to fulfil a high-level task. In order to attain such resources they need to compete with each other. In multi-agent environments, in which competition is involved, negotiation would be an interaction between agents in order to reach an agreement on resource allocation and to be coordinated with each other. In recent ...
متن کاملMultimodal Closed-loop Human Machine Interaction
The paper presents a multi-modal approach to tightly close the interaction loop between a human user and any tool in operation. Every activity of a human being generates multi-modal feedback, more or less related to the eyes (visual), the skin (sensory), the nose (olfactory) and the ears (auditive). Here we show the useful augmentation or complete creation of a nonexistent or less available fee...
متن کاملAn approach to multi-modal human-machine interaction for intelligent service robots
The paper describes a multi-modal scheme for human-robot interaction suited for a wide range of intelligent service robot applications. Operating in un-engineered, cluttered, and crowded environments, such robots have to be able to actively contact potential users in their surroundings and to offer their services in an appropriate manner. Starting from a real application scenario, the usage of ...
